As a one-time underwriter, I understand the complete loan process. I’ve been in banking since my first position as a teller so I am uniquely qualified to understand all types of customer needs. My advice to all looking to engage in home buying, I say - pay off your debts before you try to take on a mortgage and make sure you save up for a nice down payment. Save the difference between your rent and what you think your mortgage payment will be so you know what that’s going to be like before you commit. I truly get joy out of seeing first time home buyers succeed at doing this prior to diving in. Seeing them through the process, from filling out the loan application to signing the papers with a smile on their faces and with emotion gives me sincere pride in working at HomeStar every day.

My career began at HomeStar in 1994. I have lived in Bourbonnais since then as well. I do my best to use my fun and lively personality to help make our customers feel comfortable while trying to exceed their expectations at every turn of the loan process. Getting a home loan can be one of the largest purchases of one’s life and that’s why I love working at HomeStar so much. Our employees go above and beyond every day for our customers which actually makes the loan process enjoyable.
My piece of advice to customers doesn’t apply to all, however, because I really love helping people who do not qualify for a loan become someone who does qualify, I suggest that even if you have been turned down by some other financial institution, come talk to us. As someone who has closed numerous loans and am exceptionally happy each time I do, I suggest that when seeking a home loan that you simply take your time.
