Make Banking More Efficient This Holiday Season... and Always!

1. CardValet
This is a FREE app that helps you manage the use of your HomeStar DebitCard. CardValet allows you to control spending, provides fraud protection and gives you the ability to monitor your finances.
 
Simply download CardValet from the app store on your mobile device and –

  • Turn off your DebitCard any time so when you’re not using your card, no one else is

  • Set spending limits for general use or by merchant type to avoid overindulging

  • Set notification alerts so you know instantly when a transaction has been made

  • Support the needs of your children while having the functionality to control their spending


2. Mobile Wallet
Play it safe and leave the cards and cash at home. With Mobile Wallet you can use Google Pay, Apple Pay or Samsung Pay on your Smartphone to pay for transactions. In addition to being easy, it is also secure.
 
Mobile Wallet provides peace of mind as a payment method because –

  • Rather than using your actual card number, each transaction creates a random, one-time number

  • Your full card numbers are not stored or displayed in Mobile Wallet

  • You must authorize payments with your fingertip so even if your phone is stolen your card information is protected


3. Online & Mobile Banking
Save yourself time and trips to the bank. With online banking and mobile banking you have the control and flexibility to manage your money 24/7 from your couch, office or anywhere.
 
Utilize online banking or mobile banking on your computer, tablet or smartphone to –

  • Check your balance so you can plan your shopping outing

  • Quickly transfer funds so you can buy the perfect gift

4. Popmoney
No more fumbling with cash or writing checks to pay someone or to split a bill. All you need is an email or phone number and with Popmoney (and online/mobile banking), you can transfer money from your account to another person’s account. You can also use Popmoney to receive money from someone else. Simplify payments with those you know.


5. Know Your Limit
The standard spending limit for HomeStar DebitCard holders is $1,000. This is to protect customers from potential fraud on their accounts. With the holiday shopping season in full swing, if you think there is the potential of spending more than the limit in a single shopping outing, please stop by a branch and we can provide a temporary increase.
